Sex is one of the most avoided topics when it comes to the Down Syndrome community. Despite being a natural part of human development, it’s rarely addressed openly—and almost never with the people who need it most. One of the biggest challenges lies in the communication gap between parents and their children with Down Syndrome. Parents often feel unprepared, uncomfortable, or even afraid to talk about relationships and sexuality, which leaves young people navigating this space without the support and clarity they deserve.
